Research Areas

The Mitochondria and Metabolism Center supports a broad range of research, including both basic science and translational research. Besides providing an anchor for interactions among the multi-disciplinary researchers in this field, the Center in collaboration with the Departments of Radiology and Chemistry, and the Institute of Translational Health Sciences (ITHS) at the University of Washington also offer a number of technology platforms:

• NMR spectroscopy and imaging
• Metabolomics
• Confocal microscopy
• Instrumentation to measure cellular environments
