Husky Card ID
The Husky Card is the official identification card for members of the UW community. It provides access to a variety of services and opportunities, including access to campus libraries and public transportation. You may not be able to get your Husky card until the first work day of employment (Mon, 7/1). We are trying to resolve that but more will be revealed. We will escort you to the UWMC office on the first day of orientation to get your card and badge if you don’t have it already.
NOTE: Call before you go to make sure you are in their system, etc!
You must bring with you or send via email if orienatation if on zoom:

U-PASS with Transit Powered by ORCA
Transportation Services – Please contact Transportation Services first to make sure you’re in their system.
-
- Call 206-221-3701 or email at ucommute@uw.edu
Once you obtain your Husky card, you may choose transportation options from Transportation Services:
- U-PASS (bus + pass, a smart chip in your Husky ID card), everything you need to know about your U-PASS.
- If you wish to purchase earlier than July 1, you may purchase online a few days ahead of your start date. This option is for payroll deduction ONLY. Please note that you will be charged on a pro-rated basis if you sign up early, starting the day you sign up. Still cheaper than the bus fare.
- The U-PASS will not be active until 24 – 48 hours after purchase, and must be activated within 60 days of purchase. To finalize the activation of your U-PASS for use on transit, you must tap your card on an ORCA card reader on the bus or in the tunnels within 60 days of U-PASS issuance.
- Currently, the cost of your U-PASS is $25/pay period ($50/mo). Rumor has it that July 1st all employees will receive a U-PASS at no cost but check back to verify.
Parking

- Here is a full list of all the parking services available.
- You must go to Transportation Services in person to purchase a parking product for the first time.
- You may purchase a permit or tickets ahead of your start date, provided you have your Husky card.
