Colton Miller – PhD Student

 

Background  

Before UW, Colton received his BA from the University of California – Los Angeles in Geography/Environmental Studies in 2010. For his MS, he worked with Professor Darlene Zabowski’s soil lab at the UW and completed his degree in 2013 studying reforestation techniques at a surface coal mine in Centralia, WA. Prior to returning to the UW, Colton worked with the Quinault Indian Nation as a pre-sale forester performing timber sale layout for the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Research Interest

In the PhD program, Colton has continued to pursue research in post-disturbance landscapes using remote sensing and geospatial analysis. He is co-advised by Dr. Ernesto Alvarado and Dr. Monika Moskal.
