Satyam Verma: Fulbright Visiting Scholar

Background: 
Satyam obtained his Ph.D. in 2017 from Pondicherry University, India. His doctoral research focused on the ecological impacts of forest fire on tropical dry deciduous forests. He worked as Project Scientist at Wildlife Institute of India between 2018 and 2021. Satyam is currently working as a Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellow at the Department of Environmental and Forest Sciences, University of Washington.
Research Interest: 
His research interest includes fire ecology, climate change and landscape ecology. His research focuses on the inter-relationship between fire and climate change in different ecosystems and how the two together affect ecosystem services. He is also focusing on how different forest management practices in the protected areas of Central India and the Western United States are affecting fires.
