Q Center

Programs and Services

Welcome to the Programs and Services HUB! We at the Q Center offer a variety of programs and services, listed below and to the right. If you want more information about any of the programs or services listed here, each program now has it’s own page you can navigate to on the right or drop down menu.

Drop-In Hours

Drop-In hours are available in person and over Zoom! Need advising about higher education, academic guidance, sexual health, wellbeing, and more? Currently offered by four of our Q Center professional staff, you can find advisors in the drop down menu to the right.

Library

The UW Q Center’s Marsha P. Johnson Memorial Library is a community library with close to 1500 books, zines, and films. While currently in the process of renovations, you may come by and borrow a book within the space. However, we are not yet allowing books to be checked out. Stay tuned for updates as we get this wonderful resource up and running!

Menstruation Station

Are you someone who menstruates? Do you need access to reusable and sustainable menstrual products? The Q Center has partnered with Glad Rags and Aisle to ensure your menstrual needs are met by providing sustainable menstrual products FOR FREE!

We are currently filling orders for menstrual cups, reusable menstrual pads, and menstrual underwear. These products come in a variety of sizes, colors, and styles. We strive to meet the needs of our community and provide gender-inclusive products.

EnGender (Winter 2024 Coming Soon)

tinyurl.com/engenderuw

With EnGender, we hope to widen access to gender affirming items and experiences for the greater UW community. Transitioning can be overwhelming. Sometimes gender affirming products can be inaccessible. When you’re already trying to navigate your sense of self, a lack of access is one more stressor. As our program takes off, we hope to provide you with some of the tools you desire for your sense of self. Please see the page in the drop down menu or sidebar for more information!

Gender Discussion Group

More information to come this winter quarter. Gender Discussion Group is a confidential, drop-in group that centers trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming experiences. This supportive space emphasizes community and connection as we process everything and anything gender related. Ask questions, find support, and grow.

Color Mode

Queer Mentorship and Peer Program

The Queer Mentoring and Peer Program provides a safe, affirming, and exciting environment in which a mentee’s sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression is supported and celebrated by an educated and experienced mentor. Through this program, you can expect to:

  • Get matched one-on-one with someone based on your shared identities and interests
  • Meet with your mentor/mentee twice a month and explore the joys, challenges, concerns, and questions about coming out, exploring their queer identity, and much more
  • Attend campus and community events, and help to build your queer community

Trans Femme of Color Cohort (Currently on hiatus)

Currently on hiatus. The trans femme of color cohort is a supportive and confidential space for trans women of color to join, engage, and support one another. This space values the experiences and stories of the trans women of color in our community and is open to both students and non-students alike.
