Dissertation Formats and Required Components

During the prospectus approval meeting, the Doctoral Supervisory Committee must approve the format of the final dissertation. Provided the preparation of the dissertation conforms to the format requirements of the Graduate School at the time of submission, the exact configuration of the written dissertation may vary depending on what is negotiated with your Doctoral Supervisory Committee. The two options are referred to as “traditional” and “linked papers,” and are described below.
