About me:

My name is Cristina Benso and I am currently a postdoc in the group of Felix Kahlhoefer at the Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT) in Germany. I did my undergrad studies in Italy, at the University of Torino, and later I have been a graduate student at the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics (MPIK) in Heidelberg, where in 2022 I got my Ph.D. under the supervision of Manfred Lindner and Werner Rodejohann.

During my physics studies, I grew more and more curious and passionate about both fundamental particle physics and the early universe, and until now I have been always lucky to carry out my research in the field of astroparticle physics, that combines the two. During my Ph.D. studies I investigated mainly the phenomenology of sterile neutrinos as dark matter candidates, but my scientific interests extend also to other fascinating phenomena taking place in the early universe, such as baryogenesis and the presence of primordial black holes, to neutrino phenomenology in general, and to the possible use of the 21cm line of Hydrogen to test cosmology and fundamental physics.
