About me:

My name is Tommaso Rainaldi and I come from Italy, where I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Pisa. I am currently a PhD student at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA working at Thomas Jefferson Lab under the supervision of my advisor, Professor Ted Rogers.

My current field of research is dedicated to the study of hadronic structure in terms of the motion of quarks and gluons. Specifically I study the so-called transverse momentum distributions (TMDs), which feature in many factorization theorems for different scattering processes. My collaborators and I specialize in a novel approach to TMD phenomenology that is created to maximize the predictive power while minimizing the possible sources of uncontrolled errors.
