NE555 Timer – Astable Mode – Schematic

Basic application of NE555 Timer operating in Astable Mode, where it is essentially functioning as a simple oscillator. Here the 100 micro farad capacitor is being briefly charged up and then discharging its stored energy. This is what creates the blinking effect of the LED. The interval that the LED is on or off for depends on the values of the respective resistors and of the capacitor used.
