Capacity-Constrained Admission Information

FYI – our office sent this email out to all ENGRUDs this morning. We are also inviting UW interest changers (non-ENGRUD students) and prospective transfer students to attend this webinar. This session will be focused on supporting students with the application process itself rather than course planning/major exploration as we approach the application deadline for Autumn start programs on April 5th. Please consider sharing with students who may be interested in attending.
Thanks!

Greetings,
This email is intended for ENGRUDs with advanced college credit who may be considering applying to an engineering major this spring (application opens March 21st and closes April 5th) via the capacity-constrained admission process. Please note that the capacity constrained application process is limited ONLY to students who meet certain criteria (outlined on this website) and that the vast majority of ENGRUDs can anticipate accessing their major through the placement process. Students who are not eligible to apply to a major via the capacity-constrained admission process should disregard this email.
As you consider submitting your application, please consider meeting with a departmental adviser for the major or majors you are interested in applying to. Information on their availability can be found here. Our office will also be hosting a webinar on March 21st from noon – 1pm for students who are eligible to apply through the capacity-constrained admission process. This webinar will include a walk-through of the application and helpful tips for navigating the process. Please register for the webinar if you’re interested in attending.
If you are unsure whether you may be eligible for capacity-constrained admission, please start by reviewing the requirements. Keep in mind that if you apply through the capacity-constrained admission process and are not admitted, you are still able to access a major through the placement process. You are welcome to contact your ENGRUD adviser or attend QQ Drop-in advising if you have follow up questions.
Best,
Engineering Advising & Student Engagement Team
