UW Libraries Undergraduate Researcher Tutorial now in WordPress

The UW Libraries Undergraduate Researcher Tutorial is now in WordPress! Due to several changes to UW IT’s Canvas policies, the Undergraduate Researcher Tutorial can no longer be permanently hosted in Canvas and will be deleted in Canvas as of June 30th. If you use the Canvas version of the tutorial, or know of anyone in your department who does, please delete the Canvas modules and redirect any links to the WordPress site.
The Undergraduate Researcher Tutorial content follows the principles of learner-centered design, which empower students to be leaders and co-creators of their own learning experiences. The WordPress platform has enabled us to incorporate student engagement activities, and makes the Tutorial more accessible to the UW community and beyond.
The Tutorial honors student strengths and student expertise and actively applies an anti-racist lens to citation, information evaluation, and publishing and scholarship practices. Tutorial modules include: Strategic reading; Evaluating information; Information sources & databases; Search skills & strategies; Citation practices; Publishing & sharing research and Finding your balance, including a section on “imposter phenomenon.” The Tutorial is maintained quarterly by the Undergraduate Student Success team and consistently receives ~35,000 views per academic year.
Please contact us if you have any questions about using the tutorial in your teaching and advising duties!
Best,
