SEFS IT provides support for computing resources specific to SEFS business and research needs.
University-wide resources such as: UW NetIDs, telephone service, campus-wide software licensing agreements, and administrative applications for UW central business units (ASTRA, financial systems, Ariba, Workday, Keynes/FASTRANS, etc.) are supported by UW-IT. Access Management
Individual and group user permissions for SEFS online resources such as Madrona virtual desktop pools, PaperCut printing, networked file shares, applications, email accounts and servers. Automation of permissions for certain resources through the use of pre-existing UW institutional and HR user groups.
Application Support
Collaborative productivity applications such as UW Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, Sharepoint Online, Microsoft Teams, as well as departmental business applications such as EMS (event management). Consultation with faculty and staff regarding the implemention of new business and systems software.
Classroom Technology
Devices used to enhance to aid in teaching, presentation and collaboration in SEFS shared spaces such as classrooms, meeting rooms and kiosks. Includes projectors, Madrona zero clients, and video conferencing systems.
Desktop Support
Common computing issues related to individual workstations and laptops such as device hardware, operating system troubleshooting, and printing.
Infrastructure
Administration of physical servers, virtual application servers, Madrona virtual desktop infrastructure, and other systems that support SEFS central computing services.
IT Purchasing
Consultation and assistance with purchasing computing equipment and peripheral devices.
