The Fountainview Site is located between Guggenheim Hall and Sieg Hall and is composed of native deciduous and evergreen trees to create a beautifully forested area. This site was created as an extension of the Snaggle Site, before being denoted as an original site by Victoria Fox and Haylee Darby in Autumn 2018. During this time, extensive amounts of English ivy were removed to promote native vegetation habitat.
SER-UW volunteers continued the restoration work of the Fountainview Site during the 2018 – 2019 academic year. Additional English ivy was removed, and native plants were chosen for planting on the site throughout Winter Quarter. The native plants were both salvaged by the UW Grounds and donated by the SER-UW Native Plant Nursery.
Additional work parties will continue during the 2019 – 2020 academic year. Come be a part of the restoration efforts occurring at the Fountainview Site as SER-UW removes invasive species and plants more PNW native species.
