DescriptionA tent with a Society for Ecological Restoration banner. Below are some tools, including shovels and a wheelbarrow. To the right, volunteers use loppers to help clear a restoration site of invasive plants. Two massive piles of removed English ivy sit in front of the volunteers.

The Paccar Site is located east of Paccar Hall and is composed of various trees and shrubbery to create a beautifully forested area. This site was originally managed by a graduate student of the Masters of Environmental Horticulture program during the 2016 – 2017 academic year. During this time, extensive amounts of English ivy were removed to promote native vegetation habitat.

SER-UW volunteers continued the restoration work of the Paccar Site during the 2017 – 2018 academic year and onward. Additional English ivy was removed and several saplings were planted. The native plants were either salvaged by the UW Grounds or donated by the SER-UW Native Plant Nursery.

Additional work parties will continue during the 2021-22 academic year.

Come be apart of the restoration efforts occurring at the Paccar Site as SER-UW removes invasive speciesĀ and plants more PNW native species.
