The Fountainview Site is located between Guggenheim Hall and Sieg Hall and is composed of native deciduous and evergreen trees to create a beautifully forested area. This site was created as an extension of the Snaggle Site, before being denoted as an original site by Victoria Fox and Haylee Darby in Autumn 2018. During this time, extensive amounts of English ivy were removed to promote native vegetation habitat.
SER-UW volunteers continued the restoration work of the Fountainview Site during the 2018 – 2019 academic year. Additional English ivy was removed, and native plants were chosen for planting on the site throughout Winter Quarter. The native plants were both salvaged by the UW Grounds and donated by the SER-UW Native Plant Nursery.
Restoration continued through the 2022 school year. Check out some of the transformations! If you feel called to work on this amazing site, reach out to us on how to get involved and possibly manage the site.
