Establishing a Maianthemum racemosum Raised Bed

Maggie Ayers – Spring 2024

False Solomon’s seal (Maianthemum racemosum) is a native groundcover found in shady forested and riparian areas on both sides of the Cascades. The nursery had an unused raised bed in the coppice garden area that was full of weeds, and could be used for planting once adequately prepared. Once established in the bed, the false Solomon’s seal can be used as a seed source and propagated by division of root clumps, providing future inventory supply to be sold.
