Lauren Henrie – Winter 2024
Wet beds are used to control the submersion of nursery grown riparian species and benefit the future success and survival of the propagules in restoration projects. As of January 2024, the wet beds of the SER-UW Native Plant Nursery are not functioning. Previously, the wet beds were restored once in 2019, and were identified as broken in 2021 due to burst pipes. This project includes background research on the wet beds, observation of the wet beds’ current state, identification of the problem, and recommendations for repair.
