Public Plant Sales
The SER-UW Native Plant Nursery hosts two annual in-person plant sales in the Spring and Fall. Our public plant sales are held at the Center for Urban Horticulture. Exact dates vary year to year. To be notified of public plant sales, subscribe to our mailing list.
Spring Plant Sale - April 6, 2024
Fall Plant Sale - October 20th, 2024
Our Fall Native Plant Sale will feature an array of locally grown native plants; we can’t wait for you to see them!
The online plant sale is now closed. Thank you to everyone who ordered!
Missed the online sale? Don’t fret! We’ll see you at our in person plant sale on Sunday, October 20th, from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Douglas Research Conservatory at the Center for Urban Horticulture. We kept stock of most plants that were available online — and even have some that will be available only at the in person sale.
Contract Grows
Our nursery regularly preforms large and small contract grows for restoration and biodiversity initiatives. If you are interested in a contract grow with us, please reach out to our nursery manager at sernursery@gmail.com
Donations
Our nursery is powered by the support from our community and volunteers. If you’re looking to support beyond our plant sales or volunteering, please reach out to our nursery manager at sernursery@gmail.com
Plant + Seed Donations
If you’re looking to rehome some native plants or if you have a handful of native plant seeds you don’t see yourself using, the SER-UW Native Plant Nursery happily accepts plant and seed donations from community members. Salvaged plants and seeds help support our nursery and provide opportunities for our student interns to investigate transplanting and plant rehabilitation.
Pots + Tool Donations
Our nursery uses lots of gloves, hand tools, hand pruners, tarps, and buckets. If you’re looking to get rid of some of these, please reach out to us at sernursery@gmail.com.
Pot donations are currently paused while we clean and process some recent large donations. We will update this page when we are able to accept pot donations again. Thank you for your interest in donating to us!
In our commitment to sustainability, our nursery tries to reuse pots whenever possible. If you’re finished with your sturdy plastic pots after a planting, we’d love to take them off your hands! We primarily need containers that are narrow and deep, as most of the species we grow have a taproot. Please reach out to our nursery manager at sernursery@gmail.com to arrange a drop-off time.
Accepted sizes: Cone-tainers, 1/2 gallon, 1 gallon, 2-5 gallon.
We cannot accept 4″ pots.
