This studio course at the University of Washington (UW) was comprised of 16 graduate students from the Masters of Urban Design and Planning program. The Studio is led by David Blum, an affiliate instructor at the UW. This studio course in the graduate curriculum is designed to give students the opportunity to work on ongoing, real-world projects by actively interacting with stakeholders and providing research and recommendations in response. After conducting an initial conditions report containing extensive background research, the team transitioned to preparing a market analysis, adaptive reuse plans for the University Book Store, and policy recommendations displayed on this website. Below are some details that help that have served to create our well-rounded group and informed each member’s perspectives.
