Our work

We aim to deepen our understanding and challenge current models of community-based research to center and benefit community partners.

Our inaugural storytelling series highlights the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on our Latine communities, where community members and allies share their experiences navigating the burden of COVID-19 in their personal lives and their communities in Washington state. Our approach

Through digital storytelling, Project BRIDGE aims to cultivate genuine and sustainable partnerships between the health community of academics, researchers, and providers and the larger Latine community to increase understanding of community health needs and improve equity and synergy in community-centered research.

How it started

Project BRIDGE (Bi-directional Research + Digital Engagement) formed in June 2021 by a collaborative of Latines dedicated to sharing stories of our historically excluded communities to advocate for improving health and well-being.

Our partners and collaborators

BRIDGE is funded by the Population Health Initiative, the Department of Communication Center for Communication, Difference, and Equity, and the Latino Center for Health at the University of Washington.
