Wrap up Finals, Start up Summer

Happy Wednesday, Huskies!
Today brings sun, puffy clouds, and warm temperatures to the majority of Western WA; a cheerful turnaround from the drenching downpours we survived at the beginning of the week. Expect highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s today along the I-5 corridor, peaking with the sun around 4 PM.
While we are still a couple degrees below normal, this fair weather is set to persist through the rest of the week as an upper level ridge will begin to build over the region, bringing the warmest temperatures Friday and Saturday. So, if you have any fun plans coming up like going home for the summer or perhaps even graduating, the end of the week is looking to be beautiful weather for all occasions–a true taste of summer to wrap up finals week.
This ridge of high pressure should make travel and celebrations an easy task, with no rain to worry about, unlike last year’s Commencement where light ran drizzled on the 2023 graduates.
For the rest of finals week and Commencement Weekend it’s looking like sunshine all around, with the highest UV rays expected on Friday. Overall, we should be seeing average and above-average highs, with light winds and some fair weather cumulus to add puffball details in the background of your photos these coming days. For Saturday itself, highs will be well above the normal of 70 degrees, although we won’t have to worry about beating the record high of 87 degrees set in 2015. Instead, expect to be right in the middle of the two in the upper 70s by midday.
Good luck on any remaining finals Huskies, and congratulations to those of you graduating in 2024!
