Happy Wednesday Huskies!
If you woke up this morning and noticed that you don’t have power, you are not alone. The strong wind storm from last night has caused power outages to persist as over half a million customers are without power according to Puget Sound Energy (PSE). Be cautious of downed trees or power lines if you are traveling on the east side of Lake Washington today. Winds today will continue to decrease as the day progresses which will help speed up the efforts to clean up damage and restore power to our communities.
The cyclone that has produced these damaging winds will continue to impact the region as we head into the rest of the week, as rounds of showers will filter through the area heading into Thursday and Friday. Also, snowfall will continue to fall in the passes and several inches as possible with the snow levels near 3000 ft. If you are traveling across the passes, please be aware of changing conditions over the next several days. Additionally, lighting strikes have been reported throughout the night and into the day and will continue to occur, especially along the Washington coast.
Stay safe out there, Huskies!
