Resources to assist with your mental health

Here we have compiled mental health resources for library staff, friends and/or family. If after completing our survey you begin to notice changes that you find distressing, please contact the following resources:

National Suicide Hotline: 988

A local resource and referral service which will help you locate resources available in your community.

Your private insurance provider or Employee Assistance Program (if available)

Contact information should be available on your insurance card or through your Human Resources department.

The Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)

A confidential, free, 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year, information service, in English and Spanish, for individuals and family members facing mental and/or substance use disorders. This service provides referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations. Callers can also order free publications and other information.

National Crisis Center Locator

A national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)

The NAMI HelpLine is a free, nationwide peer-support service providing information, resource referrals and support to people living with a mental health conditions, their family members and caregivers, mental health providers and the public.

Rape Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN)

RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline in partnership with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers across the country. RAINN also carries out programs to prevent sexual violence, help survivors, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.
