Who We Are

At the University of Washington MTAP, we believe that complex thoracic aortic disease is best treated by a team-based approach. We understand that no individual provider can tackle these complex issues alone, but rather acknowledge the benefit of a multi-disciplinary approach utilizing the diverse specialists available at the University of Washington.  Our team includes both cardiac and vascular surgeons, along with collaborators in cardiology and medical genetics.

We are proud to call the University of Washington Medical Center our home. US News and World Reports has ranked UWMC the #1 hospital in Washington State for 8 years in a row. We have a broad team of specialized cardiac anesthesiologists, intensive care specialists, advanced care practitioners, and nurses that are all well versed in the care of complex thoracic aortic disease. Our hospital has the newest technology in advanced endovascular devices, hybrid operating rooms and intensive care unit resources. We see and treat hundreds of patients each year with complex aortic conditions and believe that being a high-volume center leads to improved patient results.
