Phoebe Greenwald, MD

Alaska Track sites: Bethel/LaTouche Pediatrics
Medical School: Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons

What are your interests in medicine?

So many! Critical and acute care, general medicine (every organ system is so cool), mental and behavioral healthcare, LGBTQ+ healthcare, medical education, point of care ultrasound.

What drew you to the Alaska Track?

This is a special chance to live, learn, and work in a remote place. I feel lucky that I can train in a highly specialized center like Seattle Children’s and simultaneously get training in a rural environment where resources and specialists are more limited. I wanted a program that would push me to think independently. At the same time, I felt that this was a program that supports its residents personally and professionally.

What would be your perfect day off?

Hurtling down a snowy mountain with two sticks on my feet.

What was your childhood dream job?

I wanted to be Elle Woods from Legally Blonde.
