About Me
I was born in Vancouver but lived a few years in Kenya when I was little. My background is Indian but my parents were born in East Africa which made for amazing home cooked meals growing up. I moved with my family to Texas after high school and did college and med school down there. The majority of the time I am not at the hospital, you’ll find me fishing in the different waters around Seattle.
Summer Or Winter in Seattle?
Definitely summer – Seattle (and Vancouver) are hands down the most beautiful places I have lived in during the summer. Think perfect 70-80 deg temps, birds chirping, green trees, mountains, and water everywhere.
Why UW Pediatrics/Seattle Children’s?
The people here overall are just top notch. The training is hard (as it is at most places) but it is so much more enjoyable to do with a fun and supportive group of residents and faculty. The amazing variety of residents that end up here mean that no matter what you’re interested in, you’ll probably find someone else who is passionate about the same thing.
Why Seattle?
See my answer for summer versus winter! I also enjoy being in a city that is progressive, has easy access to nature, has a solid variety of restaurants, is close to Vancouver, and is home to kind, fun people.
Any specific interests? Residency or non-residency?
Med Ed, wellness and imposter syndrome, PEM, sports med, fishing, paddling/kayaking, snowboarding, cooking/baking, traveling, eating new foods, Bollywood movies.
What do you like to talk about/what questions do you want to answer for applicants?
The culture at our hospital/residency, a typical day in the life as a resident here, what it’s like being at a large program, food options in and around the hospital, fishing spots and other outdoor activity options.
