About Me
I am a Seattle native but spent ten years away before coming back. I love hanging out with, empowering, and advocating for kids. During medical school, I spent a year in Taiwan living at a group home for teenage boys in the foster care and juvenile justice systems. I plan to continue my work with at-risk pediatric populations and in underserved areas. In my free time, you can find me exploring new restaurants with my family and friends, swimming at a local pool, going on a run or bike ride on the Burke Gilman Trail, or at home reading a book or watching Netflix.
Why UW Pediatrics/Seattle Children’s?
On my interview day, the feeling of “being a family” was truly palpable. Since I’ve started working here, I have found that this community includes not only the residents but also the faculty. Wanting to learn as much as I can about the science and art of medicine, I was also impressed by the amazing diversity of training opportunities, including Seattle Children’s, Harborview, UW, WWAMI, REACH, Health Equity Track, and the Alaska Track.
Why Seattle?
I love the dark lush greens, mountains, and rivers/lakes/ocean of Seattle nature. I also enjoy exploring the vibrant communities and amazing restaurants here!
I’d love to talk to you about:
Anything! But especially about foster care and child protection, rural health (and the Alaska Track), patient and family empowerment, and whole-person care. Also, swimming, running, biking, and getting around Seattle without a car!
