About Me
I am originally from Kolkata, India and grew up mainly in north Texas. I love reading, baking, taking long walks on the Burke Gilman, listening to Spotify 24/7, and debriefing pop culture situations with my friends in coffeeshops/restaurants. I have a lovely orange cat named Lyra and I am obsessed with her.
Winter or Summer in Seattle?
I’m a huge fall person but I have yet to experience my first fall/winter in Seattle! I can confirm the summer was absolutely perfect and such a nice change from a boiling Texas summer.
Why Seattle?
Drawn to experience the west coast for the first time. Had visited before since we have some family friends in the area and was drawn by how gorgeous it is here. Was super excited to live near the mountains/water and in a more diverse area.
Why UW Pediatrics/Seattle Children’s?
Health equity track, mentors that align with my interests, amazing patient population (especially for people interested in immigrant health), great experiences with kind residents/faculty on interview day!
Any specific interests? Residency or non-residency?
I’m on the Health Equity track and want to incorporate advocacy and public health into my future career. My advocacy interests include intimate partner violence prevention and immigrant/refugee health. I’m interested in Infectious Diseases, but also am really enjoying my primary care and adolescent medicine experiences. I write in my free time and am interested in narrative medicine. Non-medicine: animals, coffee shops, baking, reading (especially sci-fi/fantasy/horror)
What questions would you love to answer for potential applicants:
Health equity interests, moving to Seattle (especially with limited support), pets in residency, or anything they can think of!
