What are your interests in medicine?

Pediatric cardiology, primary care

What drew you to the Alaska Track?

Growing up in Puerto Rico and coming from a tight-knit culture really made me value community and the ability to rely on each other when resources were scarce. Although I am interested in specializing, I foundationally wanted to become the best primary care physician I could possibly be, with a wide base of knowledge to address almost any ailment. I wanted to join the Seattle Children’s Alaska Track because of the opportunity to train in an underserved/underresourced area. The ability to practice more autonomy and independence while getting exposure to unique pathologies with close mentorship is the perfect dream training for me.

What would be your perfect day off?

My perfect day off would be waking up slowly, early in the morning with a coffee in bed. I would then go on an active adventure whether that be for a run/walk/hike/swim in nature, and spending time with those I love.

What was your childhood dream job?

I wanted to be a travel journalist/photographer for National Geographic. Primarily marine-based ecosystems/cultures as I grew up on the water snorkeling, sailing, and surfing.
