What are your interests in medicine?
Rural general pediatrics, global health, pediatric hematology/oncology, improving non-communicable disease care in resource-limited settings
What drew you to the Alaska Track?
As soon as I learned about the Alaska Track, I knew it was the perfect goldilocks program for me. Quaternary care and community practice, large diverse residency class and a small tight-knit cohort, big-city living and small-town life: all in one program! When applying to residency, I wanted to get exposure to the full breadth of pediatrics, while having the autonomy to build my clinical decision-making skills. The Alaska Track gives us incredible subspecialty exposure at Seattle Children’s, with the unique ability to practice more independently in Alaska under the supervision of our amazing preceptors.
What would be your perfect day off?
Bagels for breakfast, a day paddling a river or lake, dinner party at my house with friends, and an early bedtime!
What was your childhood dream job?
UN diplomat, doctor, and dad
