Applying to the Alaska Track

As with the other individualized training pathways, residents in the Alaska Track are firmly integrated within the categorical program and are a part of the larger family of the pediatric residency program.

Due to the extended time commitment in Alaska (four months per year), however, there is a separate program code (1918320C1) to apply to the Alaska Track. To be considered for both the categorical program and the Alaska Primary Care Track, you must apply to each separately using their individual program codes. While program codes are different, there is only one fee to apply to both programs. You do not need to apply to the categorical program to apply to the Alaska Track.

Please note that the interview process for the Alaska Track will involve two interview days – one with Seattle Children’s and a second with the Alaska Track faculty and residents. Qualified applicants will be invited to interview on Zoom during the months of November and December. Please follow the instructions on how to apply to the University of Washington/Seattle Children’s Pediatric Residency Program.
