Welcome Applicants!

Welcome to the University of Washington Pediatric Residency applicant website!  We are very much looking forward to learning more about you and your experiences on your upcoming interview day.  While there will be opportunities to engage with our residents before, during, and after your virtual interview, we created this supplementary website to help give you a sense of the unique intangibles that make Seattle Children’s Hospital, the University of Washington, and the Pacific Northwest such an incredible place to train and call home.

We would like to acknowledge that we train and practice on the traditional land of the first people of Seattle, the Duwamish People. We are grateful that we have the privilege of living and working on this land, and honor with gratitude the land itself and the Duwamish Tribe.

Statement on Antiracism

Systemic racism is a crisis that impacts our patients and community every day. As pediatricians, it is our responsibility to uphold the values of justice, inclusion, and equity. Our pediatric residency at the University of Washington/Seattle Children’s Hospital is committed to fostering an environment of inclusion that values underrepresented minorities in medicine (URMs), including members of our community who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, gender diverse, intersex, queer, asexual, questioning and allies (LGBTQIA+). Learn more about our program’s culture, efforts, and initiatives on our Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Antiracism page.
