Corkery Endowment Travel Award

READ FULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION

The Corkery Endowment Travel Award provides funding for travel to and registration at a national or international meeting of an appropriate professional society for physicians in fellowships or secondary training in specialties caring for children. Funds are intended to supplement or provide travel funding when no or insufficient department or divisional funding is available.

To be eligible, the applicant must be a current fellow or subspecialty resident who is in a pediatric or pediatric-related training program of the University of Washington School of Medicine and Seattle Children’s Hospital. Persons holding acting instructor/junior faculty positions are not eligible, nor are individuals who do not hold MD or DO degrees.

Priority is given to Fellows or Sub-specialty Residents who meet the following criteria:

  • Presenting an abstract at a national or international meeting.
  • In the final year of their training program and are attending a national or international meeting for networking and interviewing purposes.

Further consideration is given to applicants from divisions that have not been previously awarded this academic year.

The maximum amount of support for this current funding award period (Sept 2023 thru June 2024) is $1,500.

Recipients will have their expenses reimbursed by the Endowment.
