Josh Merfeld

Josh is an Assistant Professor at the KDI School of Public Policy and Management in Sejong, South Korea. Josh is a development economist who studies household behavior in developing countries, with a focus on labor and agriculture. He is especially interested in how missing markets distort incentives and, in turn, affect labor allocation decisions. His work has appeared in the Journal of Development Economics, the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, and the Journal of Development Studies. Josh received his Ph.D. from the University of Washington in 2018.
