Structural Heart Program
Structural heart disease encompasses conditions due to abnormalities of the heart’s structures, above and beyond coronary artery disease.
Structural Heart Services refers to our Multidisciplinary Heart Team that evaluates and treats these conditions, typically through catheter-based, minimally invasive therapies.
Who We Are
We have an expert Heart Team with more expertise than any other team in the region, including:
- National leaders in transcatheter valve replacement and valve program development
- Co-Chair the ACC/AHA national guidelines on valvular heart disease
- Authors for multi-professional society statements on transcatheter valve replacement and transcatheter valve program development
- Co-Director for international courses on transcatheter valve therapies

We have a broad team of specialized cardiac anesthesiologists, intensive care specialists, advanced care practitioners, and nurses that are all well versed in the care of heart valve disease. Our hospital has the newest technology in advanced endovascular devices, hybrid operating rooms and intensive care unit resources. We see and treat hundreds of patients each year with complex aortic conditions and believe that being a high-volume center leads to improved patient results.

We have the infrastructure to care for complex patients, including:
- World-class, accredited echocardiography lab
- Expert partners in treatment of complex coronary artery disease
- Integrated care for advanced heart failure/ventricular assist device and transplant service
- 24-hour cardiothoracic intensive care services led by cardiac surgery, cardiac anesthesiology, critical care medicine
- Full scope of ancillary services such as social work, nutrition, respiratory therapy, physical/occupational/speech therapy, and other subspecialists
