Bye-bye, microforms! The UW Tacoma Library appreciates the many times we’ve viewed and scanned your images, but it’s time to free up space now that your contents are digitized and online!

Over time, our journals have been digitized so the microfilm we store is no longer necessary. As Cecil Brower (UWT serials technician extraordinaire) says, “they are going the way of 8 track tapes and buggy whips!”

These boxes containing over 12,500 reels are headed up to the University of Washington Libraries in Seattle to supplement and replace their older reels that they keep in reserve, ensuring that UW researchers always have backups available to the information they seek.
