Last week library staff participated in a Stop The Bleed training, making them familiar with bleed control kits and how to respond to a serious injury using a tourniquet. This immediate response education is critical in an earthquake zone like the Tacoma fault area when a large-scale disaster could limit the availability of emergency professionals.

If you would like to be trained to stop severe bleeding, enroll in a free Stop the Bleed course by visiting depts.washington.edu/hiprc/stop-the-bleed-washington.
