What is the purpose of this research?
We are investigating how user experience is taught by instructors in Technical and Professional Communication Programs. This information will be used to better understand how instructors approach teaching user experience (UX) to help create best practices and establish a community of practice, a network of individuals sharing ideas and strategies with each other.
Who should complete this questionnaire?
If you teach in an academic program specializing in technical and professional communication in higher education and are an instructor of a course related to user experience, we are inviting you to complete this questionnaire. Participation is voluntary. You must be age 18 or older to be in this study.
What will I be asked in this questionnaire?
We expect that the questionnaire should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. We will ask about your background, your program, your curriculum, and student learning outcomes. We will also ask you to share your assignments or syllabi. We will also ask if we can follow up with you. All questions are voluntary.
Are there any benefits to participating in this study?
You will not personally benefit from being in this study. We hope that what we learn will help inform technical and professional communication teachers and programs. We plan to share the results of this research through publishing and presenting in academic venues and creating opportunities to connect educators. There is no monetary payment for taking part in this research.
How will the confidentiality of the information collected be protected?
Information collected from this research will be kept and stored securely. Only authorized researchers will have access to the information.
