Aaron is originally from Connecticut (home of the true UCONN Huskies!) He received his B.S in Chemistry at Bucknell University, and then moved to sunny California for graduate school at UC Irvine. He earned his Ph.D. studying electrodeposited nanostructures and Surface Plasmon Resonance sensors in the research group of Dr. Robert Corn. While at UCI, he became interested in optical microscopy and decided to do a postdoc on super-resolution fluorescence imaging in Dr. Vaughan’s research group at University of Washington. He is interested in studying new fluorophores for STORM and applying them to investigate protein and nucleic acid nanostructures at previously unexplored length scales. Outside of the lab, he is acclimating to the rainy climate, enjoys eating dumplings and sleeping late on weekends.
