Chris Kim

Chris was born in South Korea, before moving to Kona, Hawaii (the big island). He attended Seattle Pacific University and graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry. Following graduation, Chris worked at Cardinal Health at their radiopharmaceutical manufacturing site for 2 years. However, he missed research and transitioned to UW and the Gundlach group where he participated in nanopore research for 2.5 years, up until he began the chemistry PhD program at UW in the Fall of 2021. His current research interests include multiplex fluorescence imaging of histone modifications and gene regulations. Chris is a self-certified coffee addict, but aside from that loves games, YouTube videos, swimming (RIP due to COVID), new technologies that are not affordable, singing and playing guitar, and hanging out with friends at Shultzy’s.
