Chlamydia Treatment Study (DMID 22-0019)

The purpose of this study is to test how effective doxycycline (an antibiotic) is at treating chlamydia when taken for either 3 days or 7 days.

Participants will be randomized and have a 50% chance of being assigned to the 3 day or 7 day treatment period. The study will last for 29 days and involve up to 3 visits. In general, study procedures include: collection of swabs and/or urine, a physical exam, medical/sexual history review, and taking study medication twice daily.

You may be eligible if you:

  • Believe you have chlamydia or have recently tested positive for chlamydia and have not yet received treatment
  • Are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding

Participants will be compensated for their time and effort.
