Hey Huskies! We’re halfway through week 1 of winter quarter…and the weather is certainly making it feel wintry out there!
Although we don’t have any snow in our forecast, the chilly temperatures and breezy winds are definitely adding to the winter-like start of the quarter. Taking a look at our 5-day forecast, we can see that the remainder of this week will be on the chilly side, warming up a bit as we go into this weekend.

We’ll pick up about 0.1-0.25″ of rain on campus through the end of the week, as a few rounds of showers move through. However, the real precipitation will be in the mountains, where an additional foot or more of snow is likely over the next few days, as these showers get heavier and band together as they move into the Cascades. If you’re planning a mountain expedition from Seattle, be prepared for potentially dangerous driving conditions, and hordes of desperate skiers!!

Finally, looking ahead, we can expect a few calmer days, mainly from Friday through midday Sunday. The pattern we see below allows us to remain on the dry side through the end of the week, but there are hints that we’ll get wetter again by Sunday and Monday.

Stay tuned, and good luck as winter quarter begins!
