The Amputee Coalition provides support, education, and advocacy for people impacted by limb loss and limb difference, fostering a culture of diversity, inclusion, and equity in all aspects of their work. Here are a few resources:
- FAQs for the new amputee
- Amputee Coalition’s Sex & Intimacy Guide – lots of folks are curious/worried about these topics, but might not bring them up on their own in clinic.
During one of our Upper Extremity group meetings, Leanna Namovic presented on the Disability Empowerment Center. Check out their website or email Leanna for more information! They have offices nationwide! The Disability Empowerment Center is a resource for people living in King County. They provide resources to empower people across King County to discover solutions to their challenges. They also advocate for policies and programs that make sure people with all types of disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.
