The UW Department of Rehabilitation provides education to aspiring physical therapists, occupational therapists and prosthetist-orthotists. Patient volunteers help students practice hands-on care. As a patient volunteer, your visit may focus on training skills such as performing an interview or a physical exam or through the process of fitting an orthotic or prosthetic test device.

Patient session opportunities range from one visit a year to multiple visits. Patient volunteers are compensated for their time and reimbursed for parking fees.

So EveryBODY can move  So Every BODY Can Move is a grassroots movement advocating for legislative change requiring health plan coverage of prostheses and orthoses necessary for physical activity, sport, and exercise.

The ultimate goal is to create coverage for this medically necessary prosthetic and orthotic care in 28 states by the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics.
