Meet Sherrie Brown

Sherrie Brown, J.D., Ed.D. 

Lawyer 

Sherrie Brown is a retired lawyer and research professor from the University of Washington where she focused her work on the rights of individuals with disabilities. In addition to teaching disability, special education, and school law to undergraduate students and graduate students in law and numerous other departments and schools, she was the Associate Director of the UCEDD at the University of Washington and Director of the Community Disability Policy Initiative. In these roles, she worked collaboratively with numerous community advocacy organizations including the federally funded Developmental Disabilities Council (DDC) and Disability Rights Washington (DRW) on various policy issues of concern. Sherrie guides our team through the legal aspects of the criminal justice system impacting individuals with IDD who are part of the Trueblood class.
