Meet the current trainees:
Anthony Asencio (Moussavi-Harami & Regnier Labs) is working to combine experimental and computational methods to describe the cellular processes involved in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. More specifically, we are using protein sensors to report calcium within the contractile lattice of intact cardiomyocytes. |
|
Trevor Mollot’s (Sniadecki Lab) project is centered on using a microneedle array injection device in order to improve upon the current standard of cardiac stem cell therapy in cases of chronic myocardial infarction. |
|
Lesley Martínez Rodríguez (she/her/hers) (Thomas Lab) studies the biomechanics of host-pathogen interactions to better understand infective endocarditis pathogenesis.
Ethan Mickelson (Pun Lab) is researching the synthesis of injectable polymers for the treatment of traumatic injuries. He is currently developing hemostatic polymers, resuscitative polymers, and anti-inflammatory polymers for use in emergency medicine settings.
Isabella Jennings (Scatena & Giachelli Labs) is studying a new avenue for treating cardiovascular ectopic calcification in the aortic valve and peripheral arteries using biologics.
