Info Session: Graduate Studies in Transportation Engineering (RSVP Below)

Date: Thursday, December 5
Time: 4:00-5:30 PM
Location: HUB 145

Transportation is the circulatory system of our cities and our economy: it gets people and goods where they need to be, and when it’s flowing well we hardly think about it. Transportation engineers design, manage, and operate this system, and doing this well requires a multidisciplinary perspective spanning engineering, social sciences, and public policy. Increased urbanization, ubiquitous sensing and communication technologies, a profusion of new transportation services, and growing attention to environmental and social outcomes are redefining transportation engineering.

We invite students from all fields and backgrounds to join us and learn about graduate studies in transportation engineering at the UW. We will discuss career opportunities, courses of study, necessary academic preparation, and the many resources – financial and otherwise – available to transportation students here at the UW. You will have the chance to meet our faculty, current students, and alumni, and have your questions answered during the info session and a reception immediately following.

Who should attend?

Prospective graduate students who want a career making our transportation system better.

Do I need an engineering background?

Many of our students come from engineering programs, but we welcome students from a range of backgrounds.

Do I need to be quantitative?

While there’s much more to transportation engineering than quantitative problem solving, quantitative abilities are essential.

An RSVP is optional, but will help to us to plan. Please click here to register: https://goo.gl/forms/hCIZBLkkdKmoZ57m1
