Cornell’s Systems PhD is Accepting Applications

Systems at Cornell University is currently accepting applications for PhD students to begin the program in August 2020. The application deadline is January 15th. Students with interest in the following research areas will have first consideration and are encouraged to apply here:

  • Quantitative modeling of energy systems, and/or interconnected infrastructure systems. Knowledge of energy markets is also useful. Background in electrical engineering, industrial engineering, applied mathematics, or operations research is recommended. Click here for additional information.
  • Data science, data-driven decision-making, automatic control, energy systems engineering, circular economy, life cycle assessment, and quantum computing. Students with strong mathematical background and programming skills are strongly encouraged to apply. Prior publications in relevant areas would be a plus. Click here for additional information.
  • Quantitative (optimization/algorithms) and computation skills, problems relating to urban motility, and both the theoretical aspects of the underlying problems and the practical challenges of implementing this theory in a real-world system. Click here for additional information.
