For New CEE majors

Hello new CEE majors!

Here is information that’s relevant to you as you get started in the CEE Department.

Attend CEE Welcome and Orientation Day!  Wednesday, October 1, from 4-6:30pm in the HUB North Ballroom. Pizza and refreshments provided.

  • This is your introduction to the CEE Department — your chance to hear from faculty representatives about the various fields within CEE, to learn about student organizations and activities from current students, and to meet and mingle with faculty, staff, and students over a casual pizza dinner.  Don’t miss this fun and informative event!
  • Agenda:

3:15pm – 4:00pm     Check-in.  (Some things to do before program: get photo taken, visit student organization tables, etc.)

4:00pm – 4:15pm     CEE Chair’s welcome and overview of Department

4:15pm – 5:00pm     Faculty presentations

5:00pm – 5:15pm     CEE Advising & Resources

5:15pm – 6:30pm     CEE student organizations & activities interactive fair.  Pizza and refreshments.

  • We are aware of classes that are scheduled until 4:20pm.  Instructors for CEE 307 and CEE 317 lab AC plan to release students early that day so students can attend.

Student Photos:  As is tradition in the CEE Department, we’ll be taking student photos of new students.  We will have a professional photographer to take head shots of new students on September 30 (More Hall) and October 1 (HUB North Ballroom) from 2pm to 6pm.  We’ll have a third photo day the following week, likely on October 8.  More details will be announced about that soon.  We will ask for your permission to post your photo in our student photo display case, and we hope you agree as it will make it easier for faculty, staff, and students to get to know our students.  You can choose not to have your photo displayed, but we would like your photo anyway for future reference.

Key Card Access:  Did you know that as a CEE major, you can have your Husky Card authorized as a key card to access More Hall and our computer lab (MOR 001)?   To have your Husky Card authorized for More Hall, visit our IT Tech Nick Burmeister in MOR 011, the office to the right of the computer lab entry.  Visit him on Tuesdays and Wednesday between 2:30 and 3:30pm to get your Husky Card authorized for More Hall access.
