The American Institute of Chemical Engineer’s (AIChE) Chem-E-Car Competition “engages college students in designing and constructing a car powered by a chemical energy source, that will safely carry a specified load over a given distance and stop.”
Chem-E-Car Club at UW’s design philosophy is to successfully compete using new, innovative, and original ideas. The Control Reaction, Power Reaction, and Electrical teams are composed of students with various class standings and educational pathways; membership is not limited to chemical engineering students. In April, the team competes at the Regional AIChE Pacific Northwest Student Conference and if successful, then at the AIChE National Student Conference the following November.
